Kalvin Phillips has given his thoughts on the upcoming clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.

The Whites are back in North London to face the Gunners in their penultimate away match of the season, which is a game that offers important points for both sides.

Leeds United’s number 23 has stated that the team remain focused on what they can do in these final few matches of the season rather than looking at results elsewhere, whilst also discussing his time under new head coach, Jesse Marsch.

"We can only worry about ourselves, we can’t worry about anyone else,” Phillips explained.

“You’ve got a lot of people who focus on other teams, but we will just focus on ourselves to try and get better. Hopefully we can do everything we can to get the points on the board.

“He’s [Marsch] always been positive, the first day he walked through the door he was very positive and that’s all he has been since he has come in.

“He’s just wanted to push us to try and understand the tactics and the way he’s wanted us to play, and be positive about everything we do and I think we are doing that.”

Arsenal are in a contest to finish inside the top four places, whilst Leeds remain in a battle down the opposite end of the table. This match will also see Phillips come up against some familiar faces in the opposition camp and it’s one he is looking forward to playing in.

Kalvin said: “We just to play our normal game, to play the way we did against Man City but not concede!

“We know they’re very good on set-pieces so we will do our best not to concede from one of them, but I know they’ve got good attacking players as well so we have to defend well. If we do that, I am sure there is no reason why we can’t get a decent result.

“I haven’t seen Ben [White] for a while, he’s done well over the full season he’s had with Arsenal. He’s been one of their first names on the team sheet so I am happy for him!

“It’s the same with Bukayo [Saka] and Emile [Smith-Rowe], they’ve done very well as well. I know Emile has been injured for a bit this season as well, he’s had a similar season to what I have had.

“It’s going to be a tough game, Arsenal are for me the favourites to grab fourth spot. Throughout the season they’ve been the most consistent team around that area.

“The football they’ve been playing is very fluent and positive as well so I know it will be a tough game, we will do our best to come out with a point or three.”
