Junior Firpo is looking forward to returning to the London Stadium this weekend, as his Leeds United side take on West Ham United for a second match running.

The Whites lost to the Hammers in the FA Cup and Firpo now feels the squad can learn from that encounter, as they look to secure all three points in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

The full-back gave his thoughts ahead of the game.

“It’s good that we play them again, because we have the game against them so recently,” Firpo explained.

“We can see the things that we did we badly and we can correct them, to try and do better in this game.

“West Ham are a really hard team, they are really strong, especially at home. They have good players in defence and good players in attack, so we will try to do our best.

“I think the people can see that in the first half we played really well against them [last weekend]. Maybe we can get more chances than we had, but we played well.

“I think we have to try to take advantage of the last game, our playing out was good, we took the ball into the last third.

“After then, we didn’t take advantage of the situations, so these are the things we have to improve in this next game.”

Overall in the league so far, Firpo feels that his side have been better than results have shown, believing that they’ve played well enough to gain more points than they have.

He said: “From my point of view, in the first half of the season I think we deserved at least five more points, maybe six more.

“We had really bad luck in some games and all of the games that we did win, we totally deserved it.

“We could do more, but I think we deserve more points, and if we had these points we would talk about being closer to the higher positions.

“You can see how five or six points can change the point of view.”
