Leeds United Under-21s centre-back Joshua Hamilton has recently penned a first professional deal with the club, extending his stay by one year.
Last season, the defender made 18 appearances for Rob Etherington's Under-18s alongside making his England Under-17s debut.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Hamilton said: "I'm absolutely buzzing. It's a dream come true, to be honest. Obviously I've been working my whole life towards this and it's just a very proud moment for me and my family.
"It started at grassroots just playing for fun, and then I went on different camps at other clubs, and that made me realize how much I actually enjoyed football.
"My dad helped along the way; he loves football as well, he wanted it probably more than me when I was a kid. As I grew older, got to 9, got signed by Leeds, then from there I've just progressed and got to the point where I am now.
"My parents trekking from where I live all the way to training was tough for them. A lot of money spent on fuel, but it's worked out in the end, and I forever appreciate them for that. And coaches that have stood by my side through difficult times have also helped me."
Looking ahead to next season, Joshua added: "I'd love to train with the first team, appear on the bench as any kid would at a club like this. Maybe get on loan, experience men's football, and just play well for the 21s. That's the stepping stones, I'd say."
