Leeds United made it back-to-back victories to begin the 2026/27 campaign, both of which came at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest.

Following on from the Premier League success at the weekend, Daniel Farke’s side produced another solid display to progress into the next round of the Carabao Cup.

Speaking to ITV straight after the game, defender Joe Rodon gave his thoughts on another impressive away victory for his side.

“We know it's a difficult place to come, but overall very happy to keep a clean sheet and win the game,” Rodon reflected.

The opening goal came from fellow Wales international Daniel James and our number 6 was pleased to see his national side and club teammate get off the mark for the season, as well as praising the rest of the squad.

“We all know what he's capable of. I'm over the moon for him tonight, and he showed his quality, and it was a great finish.

“We need everyone. You know, we’ve got a very good squad, and it's a long season, so the unity in the squad is unbelievable, and that's why we need everyone together.

“We want to change the mentality. We want to grow again as a group, and we want to go into every game trying to win.

“The new signings have been top, they've gelled in really well. We want to continue this momentum and go to next weekend.”
