Jesse Marsch has spoken with the media, ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to face Tottenham Hotspur.
The Whites travel to North London on the back of two Premier League victories, coming in the last two weeks against Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth.
As always when speaking to the media ahead of the match, the Leeds United head coach began with an update on the fitness of his squad.
He said: “Archie Gray has turned into an ankle injury so we are in a situation where with his age, we’ve had to shut him down for six to eight weeks.
“It’s unfortunate, I have spoken to him today and he’s down, but given his age and physical maturity, this is the best thing for him.
“Adam Forshaw has been training hard and if the Tottenham match was three days later, we’d consider him eligible. But, it at least means he should be ready to get back into training when we get back after the World cup.
“Stuart Dallas is making great progress as well, we’ll see how that goes, maybe we can get him on the pitch at the end of December or early January.
“Patrick is out for this match, he still hasn’t recovered. Mateusz Klich took a knee to knee knock against Wolves, so he will be out.
“The other one is Jack Harrison. He is questionable with a muscle strain but we’re hopeful in the next 24 hours he can be available and recover for tomorrow.
It’s another tough test for the Whites as they head to the capital, looking to end on a high before the team then have a prolonged break from playing, for the World Cup.
“Antonio Conte in general doesn’t always do a lot of rotation. He has a group that he works intensively,” Marsch explained, when asked about the opposition.
“I think in this moment, Tottenham have had a lot of games, they’ve rotated a little bit but not that much.
“They have such a quality squad and playing at home they are always good, with the incredible stadium and fan base they have.
“So, we know that this is a big challenge, once again, against a top opponent in our league that is disciplined to play the way they want to play.
“But, the beauty of where we are, we are not perfect but we are also no afraid. We’ve shown this year we are not afraid of top opponents.
“For sure, we are going to go down to Tottenham and we are going to play confidently and go after the game in every way.”
