Leeds United full-back Jamie Shackleton spoke to LUTV following Saturday’s victory against Watford.
The 21-year-old has been one of the standout performers for the Whites this season and again produced a fine display as the Whites came out on top against the Hornets.
Diego Llorente’s goal was enough to secure Leeds a one-nil win at Elland Road and Shackleton hopes it can now kick-start the season.
“It took us a few games to get that first win, but we have it now and it’s something to go and build on,” said Shackleton.
“We controlled large parts of the game on Saturday and when you’re on top you want to build up a bit of a lead, but at the end of the day, that one goal was enough and we came away with the three points which is the most important thing.
“I still don’t think we’ve played our best football as of yet or met some of the levels of last season, but it’s important we got that first win.
“We deserved to win the game, we played well and hopefully we can continue with that bit of momentum we have now after the international break.”
