James Trafford was handed his first start for Leeds United against Manchester United in Dublin on Wednesday, starting in the Whites' 1-1 draw at Croke Park as his side were eventually beaten on penalties.

The 23-year-old was named BOYLE Sports Cup Player of the Match on his debut, and speaking to the media post-match, the England international said: "It's been brilliant. We're obviously an amazing team, and we play with a lot of energy.

"From my first day yesterday, I can see everything that we're trying to do and trying to achieve this season. So yeah, I'm loving it.

"I wanted to play as much as I can even though my first day back in was yesterday. I just really enjoyed starting and getting those minutes, because I really enjoy playing football. So yeah, I was happy."

On Daniel Farke's team talk at the break, our record signing added: "He was just speaking about the half that just went on and the aims for the second half, and a few things that we can change. And yeah, it was a really good team talk and put us in a good position for the second half."
