The latest Academy talent to sign a first professional contract with Leeds United was last season’s Under-18s Players’ Player of the Year Jack Morris.
Continuing his decade-long stay with the Whites, the attacking midfielder wants to repay the faith shown in him by the club.
“It is amazing to be supporting Leeds United and playing at Leeds United,” the 18-year-old proudly explained.
“To go all the way through the Academy and manage to get this is amazing. At Under-8s, I first sat down and signed at Thorp Arch. So, to be here at Elland Road now for my first-year pro is just an amazing feeling.
“It has not been plain sailing. I have had ups and downs in my career at Leeds but the club has helped me become stronger as a player, which has got me to where I am today.
“My mum and dad supporting me all the way through it, like getting me there and back to training every day, means a lot.
“And all the coaches throughout my years have just supported me when I have been at my lows and when I have been at my highs. For this, it just pays off.”
Discussing his goals for the coming campaign, Morris wants to build on a productive second half to last term in the coming months.
“From a slow start to the U18s, I finished it off well. I had a good season becoming Players’ Player. I want to carry that momentum throughout next season and just start where I left off.”
