Jack Harrison has enjoyed the last week of training under Jesse Marsch and he wants that energy and positivity to transfer onto the pitch, as his side enter a big week.
The Whites will take on Aston Villa on Thursday night which will be the first game at Elland Road for the new head coach.
Harrison began by giving his first impressions on his new boss, who he has known about for some time after playing against him in the MLS.
He said: “My first professional debut as a footballer was against the New York Red Bulls and they beat us 7-0, so that was my first impression of Jesse Marsch!
“Ever since then, I have always been familiar with him and his style of play. Playing against his team was always a tough.
“Learning more about his methodology and style of play over the last week has been really interesting, seeing how he is as a manager has been really inspiring as well.
“He’s trying to implement his own style and I think it has been fantastic since he has come in. He really has a way to motivate his players and I think you saw that against Leicester.
“He’s a really positive guy who wants to find solutions and make things work. He’s really good at communicating with players and he gives positive energy throughout the team and the club.”
Harrison is fully aware of the position his side are in following defeat against Leicester, but he remains positive about the performance and is now looking ahead to Thursday’s clash with Aston Villa.
“It was disappointing not to get a result that we deserved, especially after working so hard in such a short amount of time with Jesse,” Harrison stated, reflecting on the Leicester match.
“I think the players, the staff and the fans got a really positive feeling from the performance despite losing and I think that is something we can take forward with us.
“It’s a tough situation to be in but I think we have really good opportunities now over this next month to get some points.
“Hopefully with the change we have had, everyone seems to be on the right page, so hopefully we can get as many points as possible.
“It’s not always easy, every game is tough, we have to take it game by game and stay disciplined. There’s a lot of positives we can take into this game.
“The last time we played Villa, I think we were unfortunate not to come away with a win. They scored some good goals early on but we were able to get back into the game and we were unfortunate not to come away with more.
“Combining our last performance against Aston Villa and against Leicester, hopefully we can come away with three points."
