Illan Voted Boost Player of the Match Against Stoke

Goalkeeper seals three points with several crucial saves

Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier racked up his fifteenth clean sheet of the season on Tuesday night, as Leeds defeated Stoke City 1-0 at Elland Road.

Such was the Frenchman's stellar performance, 47% of Leeds fans voted him their Player of the Match against the Potters.

Meslier has conceded just three goals in ten league games since the turn of the year, and put in another impressive performance for the Whites against Stoke.

With Dan James scoring the game's only goal in the first half, Meslier was called upon to make six crucial saves throughout, as Stoke battled throughout to get back into the game.

Playing a full 90 minutes, the keeper was forced into denying former Leeds midfielder Lewis Baker's strike from 30 yards out, before stopping chances from Campbell andΒ Hoever.

Leeds fans voted in their numbers for the club's Player of the Match award, Meslier winning with 47%. He was followed by goalscorer Dan James, who received 31%, with Ethan Ampadu (6%) and Joe Rodon (6%) in third and fourth place respectively.
