A trip to Molineux awaits for Leeds United on Saturday who will be determined to bounce back from last weekend’s cruel defeat at Fulham.
Despite the nature of the result at Craven Cottage, midfielder Ilia Gruev believes the team are in good shape going into the clash in the Midlands.
“We want to be aggressive, to press also high when we can,” the Bulgarian said in an exclusive interview with Premier League Productions.
“And I think you can see us against Newcastle and then also at Fulham, I think we played a good game away. Unfortunately, we conceded such an unlucky goal in the last minute, which is not easy to take.
“But you continue, you grow as a group. The good thing is we don’t allow a lot of chances, I would say. You can tell that defensively wise, we defend really well as a group, as a whole group.
“So it starts also at the front, not only the back players. But of course, we also want to score more goals and be more offensive to create a little bit more chances and to score more goals.”
The Whites travel to Molineux to face a side who have struggled for form at the start of the new campaign but Gruev is under no illusions of the threats Vítor Pereira’s team will offer.
“I think generally in every game this is really important for us,” the midfielder added. “But now we know the away game against Wolverhampton is going to be a tough one.
“They will try to keep the three points at home. We, of course, want to win there because we want to win or try to win every game in the Premier League because I think we have the quality also to do this.
“Of course, you need to have a good day and you need a little bit of luck sometimes in the game, which is normal. But I have the feeling that we have a good chance to win the three points.”
