The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Hull City on Saturday have been announced, with Gavin Ward set to take charge at Elland Road.
The Select Group 2 referee has amassed over 200 appearances in England’s second tier and has also featured in an international youth friendly earlier in his career.
The Whites have a fine record in their 10 matches officiated by Ward, winning six and drawing once.
The Surrey-based official’s most recent outing involving Leeds came in the 2019/20 season, where a solitary goal from Mateusz Klich saw United run out 1-0 winners at the Riverside against Middlesbrough.
Hull, meanwhile, have a much more mixed set of results when Ward has been in the middle, winning six of their 17 matches.
The referee’s last fixture involving the Tigers was April’s 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough at the MKM Stadium.
Ward has made two appearances in the Championship so far this term, overseeing Plymouth Argyle’s 1-1 draw away against QPR last time out, which included sending off former Whites midfielder Adam Forshaw for a second bookable offence.
