Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev completed the full 90 minutes as Bulgaria secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Georgia in their latest international outing.

In what was his 27th senior cap - having made his debut in September 2023 - Gruev delivered a composed and industrious performance at the heart of Bulgaria’s midfield. The 24-year-old was heavily involved throughout, recording 38 touches and completing 22 accurate passes as his side controlled key moments of the match.

Gruev also created one goalscoring chance and showcased his defensive awareness with six notable contributions. He registered one tackle, four clearances, an interception and five recoveries, while winning three duels in a disciplined display without the ball.

His work helped Bulgaria see out a tight contest, with the visitors holding firm against late Georgian pressure to claim the win.
