Bijol & Gudmundsson go head-to-head in tight Slovenia–Sweden draw

Leeds United teammates Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson lined up on opposite sides on Tuesday night, as Slovenia and Sweden played out a 1-1 draw.

Bijol captained Slovenia and delivered a standout 90-minute display at centre-back. He recorded 78 touches, 53 accurate passes and 16 defensive actions, including one tackle, three blocks, six clearances and six interceptions, while also winning four duels.

Gudmundsson entered for Sweden in the second half and made an energetic impact from the bench. In his 25 minutes on the pitch, he completed all 10 of his passes, registered 18 touches, made one interception and won a duel as Sweden pressed for a late winner.

Both players now return to Elland Road having impressed for their national sides.
