The Leeds United Foundation are excited to announce the continued growth of their Girls Academy, with the introduction of two new teams into the Junior Premier League (JPL) for the upcoming season.
From next season, the Girls Academy will expand with new Under-11 and Under-12 Girls squads which will compete in the JPL, marking an important step forward in the development of the club's girls’ pathway. This expansion helps strengthen the structure they are building, providing a more competitive and consistent fixture programme at key development ages.
The JPL programme will include a varied mix of fixtures against both boys’ and girls’ teams, creating a challenging and supportive environment designed to aid long-term player development.
This new JPL provision sits as an extension of the existing Girls Academy and offers players a high-quality football environment that includes:
Two training sessions per week
Strength and conditioning
Access to a dedicated physiotherapist for clinics and ongoing support
Full Leeds United match kit and training wear
Full Fixture Programme
With the strong reputation of the Tier 1+ RTC programme, the Foundation are proud of the environment they have created to support players and help them progress through the Academy pathway.
U14s & U16s Invitation-Based Trials
Alongside the JPL expansion, the Foundation will also be hosting trials for our existing Under-14s and Under-16s Girls Academy age groups ahead of the upcoming season.
These trials will run on an invitation-only basis. Due to the high volume of applications received each year, unfortunately it is not possible to invite all players to trial. Selected players will be contacted directly with further details.

Important FA Regulation Notice
Due to FA regulations, players who are registered as part of the Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) Programme for the 2026/27 season are not eligible to join the JPL programme at Under-11 and Under-12 age groups. This regulation is applied very strictly by the FA and means it is not possible to register any player across both programmes.
The JPL programme is offered as an additional pathway within the Academy structure, designed to provide players with another development opportunity.
The Foundation are not encouraging players to leave their grassroots teams. They value and support continued involvement in grassroots football; however, families should consider the overall schedule to ensure it remains manageable alongside existing commitments.
