Leeds United supporter Barry Lakin will be completing another incredible walking challenge all in aid of the Leeds United Foundation to raise vital funds for the dementia programme in memory of his mother.

In 2024, the programme seller and well-known fan completed a mammoth 60,000 step challenge, walking laps around Elland Road stadium, and last year he set his heart once again on raising even more money through a new gruelling and intense challenge, walking from Elland Road to Thorp Arch and back again.

This year, Barry is taking on an incredible challenge: walking approximately 45 miles around Leeds to visit the city’s Leeds United murals, all while raising vital funds for the Leeds United Foundation's Corner Flag Café that is run for the dementia group. Raising awareness of mental health and the amazing work the Foundation does to support and inspire people in our city.

It’s a huge test of endurance, passion and dedication, and every mile will be walked for a fantastic cause. Please show your support by donating whatever you can — every contribution will help make a real difference.

The Foundation’s work around health and wellbeing sits very close to Barry’s heart, as his mother sadly passed away from dementia in 2024. To help give back and support the incredible work being done by the club's official charity, Barry set himself this 45-mile challenge.
