Leeds United have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and gameweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.
Pre-season spotlight:
Five successive pre-season games unbeaten and four wins from six sends Leeds into Gameweek 1 brimming with confidence. It has also made them extremely popular with FPL managers heading into the new season.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6.0m) led the way for the Whites last season with 14 league goals. He finished pre-season with three to his name and two assists from four appearances. Lukas Nmecha (£5.5m), who scored six times from just 10 Premier League starts last season, also joined his teammate on three pre-season goals. Meanwhile, Sean Longstaff (£5.0m) and Brenden Aaronson (£5.5m) also found the back of the net twice each this summer.
FPL all-rounder Anton Stach (£6.0m) was another who got himself on the scoresheet, following a stand-out debut campaign at Elland Road which saw him deliver 11 combined goals and assists plus plenty of important defensive contributions (‘DefCon’), for which extra points are awarded in FPL.
The attacking versatility of Daniel Farke’s group was particularly evident in big pre-season victories over Liverpool and Augsburg, with the fluid 3-4-2-1 / 3-5-2 adopted part way through last season continuing to pay dividends.
After keeping a commendable eight clean sheets in the 2025/26 league campaign – a number which will hopefully be boosted by the arrival of club-record signing James Trafford (£5.0m) – Leeds prevented the opposition from scoring in three of six pre-season outings, including against Premier League opposition.
Player Spotlight: Tarik Muharemović
One player who could be set to prosper for Leeds in 2026/27, particularly from an FPL perspective, is Tarik Muharemović (£5.0m). A new arrival to the Premier League, the defender has not just United fans but Fantasy managers across the world excited by his prospects.
The commanding 6ft 4’ Bosnian centre-back featured three times for his nation at this summer’s FIFA World Cup after delivering two goals and two assists for former club Sassuolo in Serie A last season.
A towering presence at set plays in particular, Muharemović could continue to benefit from an attacking standpoint in England’s top-flight by getting on the end of pinpoint deliveries from teammates like Stach or flicking on long throws like we’ve already seen him do in pre-season. Indeed, the 23-year-old capitalised on one such opportunity to net an impressive overhead kick against Augsburg. Defenders with attacking threat from set pieces are always attractive buys for FPL managers.
Muharemović is also expected to provide further defensive solidity to the Whites’ backline, and the numbers suggest he could become something of a ‘DefCon’ magnet in FPL.
As well as making the third most clearances across Serie A last season despite missing six games, he won 64.4 per cent of his aerial duels and averaged a total of 10.8 defensive actions per 90 minutes. This is above the 10-per-game threshold required for defenders to earn two extra points in FPL.
That last stat also ranked Muharemović above all but three Premier League defenders who played at least 2,200 minutes last term.
Altogether, then, it is easy to see his appeal in a defence that already kept four clean sheets in their final eight encounters last season.
Best of the rest:
Erling Haaland (£15.5m) is the most heavily owned player in FPL heading into the new season. The forward was the top scoring player in FPL during the 2025/26 season registering 239 points. Calvert-Lewin is the third most owned forward in the game heading towards the first deadline.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes (£8.0m) remains FPL’s most popular defender despite his lofty price tag, with teammate Riccardo Calafiori (£5.5m) not far behind. Meanwhile, Spurs’ Pedro Porro (£5.5m) is the third most owned defender in FPL despite not having played any minutes in pre-season due to his late arrival back from winning the World Cup with Spain.
The game’s most popular goalkeepers include Arsenal’s David Raya (£6.0m), Spurs’ Antonin Kinsky (£4.5m) and Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m).
