Four Leeds United players named in Wales squad for England and Belgium fixtures

Wales manager Craig Bellamy has named four Leeds United players in his latest squad for October’s international fixtures against England and Belgium.

Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Dan James have all been called up for the matches at Wembley Stadium on Thursday, 9 October (19:45 BST) and at Cardiff City Stadium on Monday, 13 October (19:45 BST).

Darlow, 34, has impressed since stepping in for the injured Lucas Perri, making four appearances in all competitions and producing some stunning saves against Fulham and Wolves.

Rodon’s latest call-up comes on the back of the defender scoring in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, with the 27-year-old having played every minute of the club’s Premier League campaign so far.

Having recovered from an MCL injury in the season opener against Everton, Ethan Ampadu has captained the side in the last three games against Fulham, Wolves and Bournemouth, helping Leeds climb to 12th in the table.

Dan James will be hoping to add to his 59 caps for the Red Dragons, having played five times for Leeds this season, his most recent run-out coming against his former side Fulham.

Wales face a stern test in London against England before returning home to host Belgium in what promises to be two high-profile fixtures in their autumn schedule.
