The Leeds United Foundation have been supporting Families First Leeds with packing and delivering well-being boxes to hundreds of families throughout the local community.

Families First Leeds is an initiative funded through the Government’s national Troubled Families programme. Its aim is to help families with a number of complex problems by working with them to help turn their lives around, improving outcomes for the whole family and thereby reducing the need for more intensive and costly interventions.

Having worked with the organisation in the past, the club’s official charity linked up with Families First once again to support them with an initiative to deliver boxes full of goodies to vulnerable families throughout Leeds.

Coaches from the Foundation joined staff at Old Colburn Community Centre to help with packing items into boxes and then delivering them throughout the city to around 500 different families in need of extra support through these difficult times due to COVID-19.

It has been a difficult period of time for everyone over the past year, with people of all generations across the world impacted by coronavirus and it has been crucial to see people supporting those who really are struggling to cope with the effects, especially those struggling with their mental health and unable to get access to food and essential items.

Initiatives just like this one are vital to ensure everyone makes it through the difficult times ahead and the Leeds United Foundation have worked tirelessly to support local charities and organisations doing just that.

Kerry who works with Families First Leeds, said: "Thank you to Leeds United for all their help in packing around 500 Well Being boxes for vulnerable families across Leeds.

"The boxes will be distributed across the city as part of the Child Friendly Leeds Programme who are actively supporting teen and adult emotional well-being."
