Leeds United Foundation in partnership with Clipper Logistics are proud to support Slung Low in their efforts to provide essential food items for vulnerable families across Leeds.
With food banks reporting a record spike in need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, retail logistics specialists, Clipper, have donated a refridgerated trailer, to assist Slung Low with storage capacity for their food bank. By the end of the year they will have been able to support approximately 7,500 households with food deliveries.
Mick Doe, Transport Operations Director at Clipper Logistics, said: “We’re proud to be able to support Slung Low with their community initiative, these are difficult times for everyone and it is more important now, than ever before, for us to work together to help those who really need it.”
Michael Kinsey, Operations Executive at Leeds United Foundation, said: "We have seen first hand the impact Covid-19 has had on vulnerable people in our local communities and the key to making it through difficult times is a collaborative approach. Clipper have been instrumental in supporting community initiatives and we're really proud to be able to help Slung Low in providing essential items to the families who need it most."
Ruth Saxton, Community Producer at Slung Low, added: “We reached out to Leeds United Foundation and Clipper when sourcing a new storage solution, and were blown away by their expediency and enthusiasm in helping us support our collective community: truly ‘side before self’.”
