Leeds United are celebrating their ongoing partnership with Her Game Too at our weekend Sky Bet Championship fixture against West Bromwich Albion, ahead of International Women’s Day.
The club proudly announced their partnership with Her Game Too three years ago, and from the outset Leeds United have aimed to ensure Elland Road is a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, including women and young females.
The partnership between both parties continues to grow as we aim to tackle sexism whilst creating a more welcoming space for all women in football.
To help celebrate the third anniversary along with International Women’s Day, which takes place on Saturday 8th March, there will be additional branding and photo opportunities around the stadium, and the club will be hosting a number of events both internally and through the Leeds United Foundation.
Levi Macleod, our representative for Her Game Too, will be a special guest at the fixture on Saturday and she has spoken out about the relationship with the club: “I have been working with Her Game Too for almost two seasons, and I am so grateful that it has enabled me to do some really positive things whilst working closely with Leeds United.
“It is important that we continue to tackle all forms of discrimination in football, including sexism. All females should feel welcome and safe when supporting their team, just like anyone else.
“I am really looking forward to the game today and to helping the club celebrate International Women’s Day with various planned events.”
If you witness any forms of discrimination whilst at Elland Road, please use our Matchday Incident Text Service, and text LEEDS along with all of the relevant information around the incident to 60006 as soon as possible.
