Leeds United Women get their 2026 underway with a midweek away clash against Chorley Women on Thursday.
The Whites are back in FA WNL Division One North action at the Jim Fowler Memorial Ground and will be hoping to kick off the year with a win.
“We're all really excited for the game on Thursday,” midfielder Ellie White said. “It’s been a very slow start to 2026, so I think everyone's buzzing.
“The camp's buzzing. Everyone's just really excited to get going, and there's nothing better than a midweek match under the lights. It'll be nice to get 2026 up and running.
“We’ve been training hard and keeping that momentum going, so we just want to get back into league action now because it's been quite a while since we've had any league games.
“Hopefully we can start 2026 with a bang and get back up to speed and get those points on the board because I think three points is huge and every game is massive now. - we just want to get those points and hopefully we do come back with a positive result.”
On starting the year with a win: “It's massively important to start strong. It's going to be a very, very tough game. Chorley are well-drilled and we know how difficult it is to play against them.
“We know how hard we've been working in training and having players back from injury, the squad's only getting stronger, so it's a positive place to be in right now.”
