The Leeds United Foundation are launching their females only Development Centre this September as part of the Women and Girls set-up at the charity.

The Development Centre is an initiative that is based around increasing participation in girls’ football, offering young females who are interested in playing the sport and developing their skills the chance to do just that and be a part of the Leeds United Girls Pathway.

This programme has been designed to find and nurture talent from a young age within our region, providing a platform for enthusiastic youngsters to perform at their best level after receiving first-class coaching and support.

The Development Centre programme is for females only, with one training session taking place each week alongside qualified coaches from the club’s official charity. For those that wish to continue playing football and developing there will also be the opportunity to progress into the Girls Academy within the Foundation and then the Shadow Squad.

Sessions will be based on individualised coaching, providing the opportunity for youngsters to improve not only their skills and technique but also confidence – covering all aspects of the game. This will mean that the sessions are training specific as opposed to including small games for the players to take part in. Each player is therefore encouraged to continue playing for local grassroots teams whilst also training with the Leeds United Foundation Development Centres.

This centre will be based in Scarborough at the Scarborough Sports Village (YO11 2JW), and the first session will take place on Friday 17th September. The weekly sessions will then continue every Friday from 7pm to 8pm. Please note that the surface they will be training on is a 4G pitch.

Per individual the cost for young females to take part is just £20 per month. If you are interested in signing a young female up to the programme, please click here to register your details.
