Daniel James has been voted Leeds United’s Hisense Player of the Match following Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the second round of the League Cup.

The Wales international opened the scoring at the City Ground in the 50th minute, before James Justin doubled the Whites’ advantage 15 minutes from time to secure progression to the next round.

James was a constant threat during his 71 minutes on the pitch, creating a game-high three chances and registering two shots on target.

The 28-year-old also had five touches inside the opposition penalty area - the joint-most of any player in the match - and completed nine carries covering a total distance of 103.5 metres.

Alongside his attacking contribution, James won four duels and made two defensive contributions, including one clearance and one interception. He also recorded 35 touches, completed 10 accurate passes and made one recovery.

James secured 28% of the supporters’ vote, finishing ahead of Nico Elvedi and Tarik Muharemović, who each received 17%, while Joe Rodon claimed 13%.
