The Leeds United Foundation recently welcomed a very special guest to one of their mixed Soccer School sessions in the form of first-team star Daniel James.
The Wales international was on hand at the Grammar School at Leeds where boys and girls of all abilities, aged between 5 and 12 years old, were taking part in fun and entertaining activities during their school holidays, helping them to remain social and active away from term time.
Led by FA-qualified coaches, the daily sessions focus on developing football skills through small-sided games, competitions and team activities, while also building confidence, teamwork and social skills.
During this specific session, attendees were split into groups by age, all taking part in multiple games in a tournament-style format.
The pacey winger started his visit by going round each group, joining in with the games and swapping between teams, before taking questions about his career and life away from football, offering some inspirational comments about taking part in outside-of-school sport.
Following the Q&A, the Welshman also handed out medals to the stars of each group, selected by their designated Foundation coach, before signing some autographs and catching up with a few parents.
After the session, James said: "It was great for me to join in, ask them questions, ask them if they've been enjoying themselves, and it was just great to be involved in this kind of thing.
"It's really important for us as players to try and involve ourselves in these types of events because the relationship we have with the fans is huge for us.
"I think you picture yourself when you're young and you're always going to these camps and from a distance it seems amazing, but to see what the foundation does in the community in person is great," the attacker continued.
"They're great coaches and I think it's brilliant to come, even all capabilities, whatever age, it's being with friends and then just enjoying it."
The club's official charity are running their next block of Soccer Schools during the upcoming Summer holidays, starting on the 20th July, taking place at the following venues:
Grammar School at Leeds
Garforth Academy
Prince Henry's Grammar School
King James High School
Queen Elizabeth Grammar School
