Leeds United manager Daniel Farke spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers.

The Whites are looking to extend a six game unbeaten run in the Sky Bet Championship, on the road at Ewood Park.

Farke began by giving an update on team news ahead of the away trip.

“We had a few knocks after the last game and have had to manage the load,” said Farke.

“In the beginning of the week Sam Byram, Crysencio Summerville and Joe Gelhardt had a few problems and we had to manage the load a little bit.

“However, all three were reinvolved in training today (Thursday) and I expect them all to be available and fit and ready.

“We have the injury of Junior Firpo and the situation of Ian Poveda with his call up for the Colombian international team.

“The only question mark is Luke Ayling, he reported yesterday (Wednesday) after training some light knee problems, so we managed his load today (Thursday) and I hope he is able to train back with the team tomorrow (Friday), in order to be available.”

The Whites will be backed by nearly 8,000 travelling fans on Saturday for the early kick-off against Blackburn who currently sit just two points outside of the Play-Off places.

The Leeds boss is expecting a difficult test and had lots of praise for his opposite number and his team.

“I like the side and really rate them,” said Farke.

“I rate the work of Jon Dahl Tomassona lot, I think they are doing a fantastic job.

“They are a really good possession side, they are a bit unpredictable and very brave and sometimes even a bit crazy in a positive way.

“In possession they are very, very fluent with many rotations and positional changes, so it is difficult if you try and follow each and every movement.

“It is quite important to be rock solid against them, you also need a good structure against the ball, because they can create a lot.

“They are one of the teams who have created many chances and have one of the highest expected goals at this level, so they have an offensive threat and many good players individually.

“We have to be really rock solid, well-structured and disciplined in our work against the ball and if we do this, we will have opportunities to shine, create chances and hurt them.

“They are a really good side and if you are not spot on, this team can hurt each and every team at this level, so we are quite respectful.

“We are not full of fear, we will travel with respect, but we need to be there at our best, in order to give ourself a chance of winning the points.”
