Leeds United had to work hard to seal a big three points at home against Preston North End in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Whites went in front early before being pegged back moments later, but then regrouped, scored the winner and controlled the rest of the game.

Speaking after the match, manager Daniel Farke gave his thoughts to the media.

“I think we found a really good balance today,” the boss explained, after the game.

“We were on it, the fire was burning, and we started on the front foot. Yes, then perhaps one situation of not switching on against the ball, they equalised but it didn't disturb us.

“So we just kept going and started really in the game, then scored a fantastic second goal. I think in the first half, we could have scored, of course, with other chances.

“But also against the ball, there were one or two scenes where we could have been a bit more on it in the first half. I think in the second half, this was then on a top level. We had even more control in the second half.

“But if you don't score the third goal and miss this crazy amount of chances, then you always have to be switched on because Preston played today with freedom.

“They are a very physical side and always dangerous with set pieces. We didn't allow them to play much in our half, but of course, with one or two situations, you're always a bit nervous if they could find the equaliser.

“I think it was crucial that we returned also back to our best behaviour against the ball. We were also cool in the head and composed of course, the prize is three points today.”
