Daniel Farke has been speaking with the media prior to his side facing Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend in the Premier League.
The boss hosted his usual pre-match press conference to preview our upcoming opposition, whilst also reflecting on the start to the new campaign.
“First of all, I am pretty happy that we are so rock solid in most periods during the Premier League season. This is always the key as a newly promoted side to give you a chance of survival.
“What we have to improve is our cutting edge, the outcome and efficiency to score more goals because the Premier League games are like this and if we are creating more chances than Everton, Newcastle and 75 minutes at Fulham are the better side, you have to make sure you reward yourself.
“This is the only thing I can criticise in what is missing but we had a similar topic at the start of last season, playing really good football and creating chances.
“We won’t be that dominant like last season because it was just Championship level but more like out of the good situations to be more effective, be more clinical and use the chances.
“We are highly motivated but we also stay humble. We know as a newly promoted side in an away game, we are always the underdog.”
Despite Saturday’s hosts being winless so far this term, Farke believes the experienced Midlands outfit will offer a stern test for his team.
“We face an established Premier League side who have played several years on this level,” he added. “Yes, of course, they haven’t had the most effective start in terms of points but still early doors.
“We know that we travel there and they will be even more highly motivated to win this game so it doesn’t make our life easier or the challenge easier.
“We know that we have to be at our very best and fully concentrated and show our defensive steel and in the good periods, hopefully reward ourselves with a goal.
“We have shown we belong in this league, we have shown we are competitive and in this mood, be respectful but not with fear.”
