Ahead of Leeds United’s encounter with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, manager Daniel Farke has explained how difficult the task will be as his side look to secure all three points.
Returning to action after the international break, the Whites will be keen to get back to winning ways, something they were able to achieve last time out at Elland Road with a victory over West Ham United.
“To be honest at this level, each of the games is a big, big challenge,” the boss exclusively told Premier League Productions.
“Especially as a newly promoted side, you have to be at your very best. If you are not at your top level, you have no chance in this league to win any points.
“And especially against an in-form Villa side with top players, a top manager, of course, we have to be there with a top performance and to be good in each and every detail.
“It is all a bit tricky during the international break because you don’t have the players there for the whole time.
“Some will arrive pretty late, so it is a bit challenging and complicating with the preparation. But nevertheless, we want to be spot on also in the details because if we do so then we have a chance, especially in the home game.”
Speaking on Sunday’s opponents, Farke was very complimentary of Villa head coach Unai Emery, who has overseen an impressive turnaround in the West Midlands.
“He is one of the best in this business,” the German added. “You just have to have a look at his CV. Outstanding record.
“I think he has done outstanding work at Villa. If you have a look at his European record, it is incredible. It is always great to see him because he is also a gentleman.
“It is always nice to chat with him but it is never that great to see one of his sides because it is so challenging to play against them.
“They are difficult to open, difficult to create chances and to score against them. They always have a clear strategy.”
Farke will address the media on Friday afternoon in his usual pre-match press conference, which can be watched live on LUTV.
