Daniel Farke provides fitness update ahead of Norwich City clash

Boss issues squad availability update.

Farke pre Norwich training

After what has been a very busy schedule for Leeds United in the Premier League, attention very quickly turns to Emirates FA Cup action for Sunday’s Fifth Round tie with Norwich City.

Despite the swift turnaround, Whites’ manager Daniel Farke says his squad have largely come through unscathed and are in contention to feature at the weekend.

“Noah Okafor is not in team training yet so for that he is not available for this game,” the boss told the media at Thorp Arch.

“All the others seem to be alright and if nothing happens in the next couple of days, I should have, apart from Noah, a full squad available.”

Discussing rotating his players, Farke added: “Sometimes in professional football you have to wait for your chance, you have to prepare yourself and when there comes a chance along you have to grab it.

“Otherwise, you have to wait again for a few weeks in the stand or on the bench. This is professional football so when a player doesn’t show his best possible performance for example during a cup game, I have lots of understanding.

“Sometimes, it is tough but you have to grab these chances. You have to use it. Hopefully the players who will be on the pitch and get them perhaps can grab it also with both hands.

“Because, it would be also beneficial for them for us as a group also for the for the upcoming weeks and I hope, of course, if I will rotate, then also for some good performances.”
