Prior to Saturday’s fixture with Coventry City at Elland Road, Whites boss Daniel Farke has provided a fitness update, with a number of players doubtful for the clash.
Manor Solomon, Dan James and Max Wober are all expected to miss the match with the Sky Blues, whilst Pascal Struijk, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford have sat out training during the week with smaller issues.
Speaking to the media at Thorp Arch, Farke said: “Sadly, we have a few injury updates and also some problems during this week.
“Manor Salomon is out for this game. Obviously, he had some back problems that have resulted in some problems with his hamstrings, so for that he will definitely miss this game. I hope to have him back at least for the last game before the international break and perhaps even for the Norwich game.
“Also, Dan James is obviously still out. I spoke about that it is perhaps just realistic that he will be back after the international break. If he is available in one of the games before it would be a bonus, but again, I expect him just to be back in contention after the next international break.
“Max Wober will also miss this game because there was a setback also in training already last week on Friday in our final session before the last game. That was also the reason he wasn’t in the matchday squad.
“In addition to that, we had a few problems after the last game. Pascal Struijk was struggling a bit with his adductors.
“Junior Firpo also had some problems and he missed the first part of this week. Junior was back in training today, so if the body doesn’t react in a negative way, then I expect him to be available.
“Also, Patrick Bamford missed a training session yesterday after he got a hit on Tuesday in training. But the same like with Junior, he was back on the training pitch today, so I am also pretty optimistic that he will be available also for the game.
“The biggest question mark is behind Pascal Struijk, because even today he wasn’t able to train. There is definitely a chance and I am still, I would say, carefully optimistic. But in order to be also available, he needs to train tomorrow in our last session.”
