Daniel Farke provides fitness update ahead of Brighton clash

Boss discusses squad availability.

Daniel Farke pre Brighton squad update

Ahead of Leeds United’s trip to the South Coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, boss Daniel Farke gave the press a positive update on the availability of his squad.

The German confirmed he has a full complement of players at his disposal for the clash against the Seagulls, a rarity in his eyes in relation to previous weeks.

“It is way better,” the manager explained. “I have nothing to report, nothing to complain about.

“No illnesses, no injuries, so everyone is training, we have a proper group and everyone is available, proper competition. A situation I prefer much more.

“Sadly it is not a guarantee that you will also be successful in the game, sometimes after a tough week you can also be successful like we were last week, but overall it is a much better situation compared to last week, so no question marks today.”

The encouraging news also included an update on Italian international Willy Gnonto who is back in contention after a spell on the sidelines.

“He has trained for the first time since his, I would label it a bit long-term injury with his calf problems and then his surgery, his first full training week.

“After being out so long, he is not a topic for the starting lineup, definitely not, but he had the first full training week and also is in the competition.

“We will see if we take him already, perhaps even with us to the game. Lots of competition at the moment, no one is missing, so I like it.”
