Daniel Farke: It feels fantastic!

Boss reflects on quarter-final win.

Daniel Farke Celebrations vs West Ham

Speaking to the media after guiding Leeds United to a first Emirates FA Cup semi-final in nearly four decades, boss Daniel Farke was delighted his team were able to progress.

Lucas Perri was the hero in the penalty shootout after the tie finished 2-2 after extra time, setting up a final four meeting with Chelsea.

After the full-time whistle, the manager said: “I am just proud today of my boys, how we dealt also with so many setbacks. We stuck together and we wanted to win this game and are able to celebrate in the end and reward our fantastic fan base with the first semi-final in so many decades. It feels fantastic!

“I am pretty delighted and happy for our supporters. In this moment, we feel pretty humble and also grateful that we could help a little bit to achieve this.

“I am pretty sure that more than thirty thousand will try to overtake the capital. During these crazy times in the world, it is great to give some light joy with football into the hearts and the souls of the supporters.

“This is more or less a perfect example of how we should be. We are not perfect but if we keep going, and keep fighting, we are mentally strong and we can celebrate. I am pretty delighted for Lucas that he is in a positive way in the spotlight today.

“We still have to win our points in the Premier League, so confidence and belief and also to know how it feels to deal with pressure, how it feels like to play in a pressure situation. This experience is always priceless."
