Daniel Farke: Another tough away game

Boss looks ahead to our midweek clash with the Hornets.

FARKE TRAINING NIGHT

Leeds United return to Sky Bet Championship action on Tuesday evening, when they travel away from home to face Watford.

The Whites head to Vicarage Road looking to bounce back from the Emirates FA Cup defeat over the weekend, facing a Hornets side who claimed an impressive point away at Sunderland on the same day.

Speaking ahead of the match, Daniel Farke gave his thoughts to the media.

Beginning with team news, the boss said: “Dan James and Joe Rodon will be available, they are back in training since yesterday.

‘It was also a bit precaution not to risk them in this game [against Millwall], so if nothing major happens then they are definitely back available also for this game [vs Watford].

“The bad news sadly was Max Wober, he has this ongoing knee problem, another setback, he will need another surgery, we'll do this as quick as possible and he will definitely be out until the next international break.

“Patrick Bamford was not back in team training yet, will not return then before the Watford game, and then we'll see what happens in the next days.”

On the game itself, Farke knows that Tom Cleverley’s Play-Off chasing side will prove another tough test for the Whites.

“They were there with a good performance, pretty impressive performance, and pretty close also to be the first team to win at Sunderland.

“It says a lot about their quality. Of course, they also want to finish in the top six. A physical side, a pretty robust side, they have many experienced players.

“Especially at home, they are really a threat and they play with intensity and are very physical.

“They were really, really difficult to beat, especially in the first half of the season, and for that, we will also travel with respect.

“Another tough away game, but we also have proven that even in tough places we can be competitive, and if we are on the best of our game, we also have a chance to win points.”
