Dan O’Hearne shared his thoughts with LUTV after seeing his side battle back from behind, to win away at Durham Cestria.
The Whites secured the three points after two second half Laura Bartup goals had cancelled out a first half opener from the hosts. The win keeps Leeds third in the league table.
Speaking after the match, O’Hearne was pleased with the way his team performed in the game.
He said: “We needed that didn’t we.
“We knew today would be a tough game and we changed the approach a little bit.
“After conceding the goal from a free-kick, via a big deflection, I thought we were having a bit of bad luck right now, but credit to the girls they dug in.
“They stuck well to the plan and battled hard to win the game in the second half. They showed character and bounced back well after last week.
“We didn’t create that much today, but neither did they. It was a pretty even game and a midfield battle, really.
“Laura has come up with the goods for us in the second half so we’re delighted. She has been speaking about it herself being six games since she scored, so she was due a goal. We all know she’s a goalscorer so hopefully this gets her confidence back.
“The players have been brilliant and taken on board what we said. They’ve worked hard and it got us the win today.”
