Dan James has spoken ahead of Wednesday night’s home match with Chelsea, at Elland Road.

The attacker praised the fans ahead of the match who have been supporting the side throughout all moments of the season, whilst also insisting the team are focused solely on what they can do in the final few matches.

Firstly, James reflected on the defeat to Arsenal at the weekend, whilst taking the positives from the second half.

He said: “The first half we didn’t play well at all and we came in at half-time very disappointed.

“The reality was, we came in 2-0 down and we had 10 men. The only thought was how can we go out there to play with pride and work as hard as we can.

“The second half we came out and we had a great fight. We scored a goal and right at the very end we could have nicked it to make it 2-2.

“That shows our fight, we could have easily just thought we’d lost the game, but we wanted to fight and we’ll take those positives into Wednesday because that’s all we can do.”

Now back at Elland Road, the winger has described the fans as ‘magnificent’ in his first campaign for Leeds, whilst also discussing the position in the league table.

“They are unbelievable, whether we’re up or down in the match, the support is always the game,” James explained, on the supporters.

“They’ve been incredible this season, the support is magnificent. We’re doing it for ourselves but also for them.

“It’s obviously not where we want to be [in the table] but the reality is we are there and we can only think about ourselves.

“We can’t think about other teams around us, we’ve got two very important home games this week which will be massive.

“I am sure we will be up for it and the fans will be as well, they’ll be right behind us. There are three games to go, we all believe in ourselves and we need to show that.”
