Dan James scored and assisted in Leeds United’s comfortable victory over Birmingham City, on New Year’s Day.
The Whites scored three goals to secure the three points against the Blues, extending their unbeaten home league run to 13 matches and return to winning ways.
After playing a key role in the win, the Welsh international gave his thoughts on the game.
“It’s a great way to start the year,” James told LUTV, just after the full-time whistle.
“We’ve been disappointed in the last few weeks to not get the points on the board, which is what we would have wanted.
“I thought we were brilliant today, we created chances all over the pitch and the clean sheet was important as well.
“I think it was just to be on the front foot, to try and win the ball back as high up as we can, and exploit the wide areas.
“They played five at the back and it was about finding the pockets, I think we did that today.”
James now has eight goals and five assists in the Sky Bet Championship this season. He was asked about his own form, and the exciting attacking threats in the squad.
James said: “I am feeling good at the minute.
“It’s always nice to get on the scoresheet. I have to keep continuing that and working hard for the team.
“We’ve got goals all over the pitch. I thought we were back to our best [against Birmingham].
“We’ve got an FA Cup game now and we have to go into it with a winning mentality."
