The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Coventry City on Saturday have been announced, with Gavin Ward set to take charge at Elland Road.
The fixture marks a swift return to West Yorkshire for the Surrey-based official, who oversaw the Whites’ 2-0 victory over Hull City at the end of August.
Mateo Joseph’s first goal of the season put United into the lead against the Humberside outfit, before forward Joel Piroe put the tie to bed with a confident finish in the second half.
Victory over the Tigers means that Leeds’ fine record when Ward has been in the middle continued, having won seven matches in 11.
Coventry have struggled for form when Ward has refereed their matches, winning just six in 21 and losing 10.
The referee last officiated the Sky Blues in their Sky Bet Championship opener against Stoke City, which saw Mark Robins’ side fall to a 1-0 defeat at the bet365 Stadium.
In his career to date, Ward has made over 500 appearances in the EFL, 218 of which have come in the second tier.
