Leeds United Football Club have been presented with the Yorkshire Regiment Challenge Trophy for the 2019/20 season.

The trophy was presented at Elland Road, ahead of Remembrance Day, by a member of the Yorkshire Regiment, with Leeds United overall winners in its third year of running.

The annual competition was purely between teams based in Yorkshire in the EFL Championship, with six club’s involved altogether, and points were achieved when a Yorkshire based team played another Yorkshire based team throughout the 2019/20 season.

The Yorkshire Regiment started the challenge between football teams following a similar competition hosted between the Rugby Union Championship Yorkshire based teams and the Rugby Super League Yorkshire based teams, with the challenge offering club’s the opportunity to win an impressive piece of Regimental Silverware.

If supporters would like to take a look at the Yorkshire Regiment Trophy in person, they will be able to do so once the Leeds United Club Store based at Elland Road is back open, following government guidance surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
