Leeds United are pleased to once again support the Mission Christmas campaign as we aim to ensure children around Leeds don’t go without gifts and toys this Christmas.

Along with a donation of presents from the club, the first-team squad have also continued their support, making personal cash donations to the annual campaign which is designed to help Santa reach the thousands of children currently living in poverty.

Representatives from Mission Christmas paid a special visit to the Leeds United training ground to receive the donations from some of our first-team players, including captain Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford, Joel Piroe, Karl Darlow and Joe Gelhardt.

For any supporters that would like to get involved in the campaign this year and show their support, you can do just that at Elland Road on Saturday (16th December) ahead of our Sky Bet Championship fixture against Coventry City.

The club has invited volunteers from the local charity to host a bucket collection around the ground in the lead up to kick-off, and there will also be a Mission Christmas van in situ outside the Centenary Pavilion for any fans that are able to bring a gift along, to donate to the extremely important cause.

Lisa Sullivan, the Cash for Kids Manager for North, West and South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, said: “We are so very grateful for the continued support from Leeds United. It is an honour and a privilege to have their support and it is wonderful to be able to work with such genuine and down to earth people.

“The support from the club, as ever, is much needed as this year has been the toughest yet, and we still have thousands of children that need a gift with only a week left. I know the wonderful Leeds United supporters will once again help if they can, whether it is bringing a brand new and unwrapped gift with you to the match, or popping a donation into our collection buckets or going online to make a donation (www.pulse1.co.uk/mission).

“Thanks again to you all for your incredible support, and may I take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas!”

Designed by Cash for Kids, the Mission Christmas campaign means that children who are at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas Day will have something to open, and the ongoing support from our fantastic supporters means that even more children will have presents to open.
