Chelsea: Match officials appointed

Appointments made for Wednesday’s fixture.

The match officials for Leeds United’s Premier League clash with Chelsea on Wednesday night have been announced with Darren England set to take charge at Elland Road.

The Select Group official is in his seventh season in the Premier League. In that time the 39-year-old has overseen 85 top-flight matches beginning with a 2019 meeting between Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Doncaster-native has worked his way up the English football pyramid, with almost 200 EFL appearances.

The Whites have a solid record in their 14 matches to be refereed by England, winning five times and drawing on five occasions.

The Blues, meanwhile, have recorded two wins in their five matches officiated by the referee, drawing three.

On England’s last visit to Elland Road in the top-flight, Leeds drew Everton 1-1 in August of 2022.

Keeping up with the action from Stockley Park is Video Assistant Referee Paul Howard and Additional VAR Lee Betts.
