Leeds United were delighted to celebrate the career of Annie Cochrane over the weekend ahead of International Day for Older Persons, the annual event that raises awareness and champions the integral role of older people in our communities.
The club paid tribute to Annie during half-time at the Coventry City match, with Chief Executive Angus Kinnear and Chief Operating Officer Morrie Eisenberg, presenting Annie with flowers at the side of the pitch.
Annie celebrated her 90th birthday earlier this year, and after over 20 years of service at Elland Road, she picked up the Bobby Collins Award at our end of the year Player of the Season Awards back in April.
A hugely popular figure around the club, Annie has also been recognised in the local community and was asked to attend and speak at an event on Tuesday 1st October at Headingley Stadium in aid of International Day for Older Persons. The event this year was themed 'the part we play' and was jointly hosted by Leeds Older People's Forum, Leeds City Council and Leeds Rhinos Foundation.
Everyone at Leeds United would like to thank Annie for the outstanding effort and commitment she has shown to the club and we wish her all the very best in her retirement.
