Calvert-Lewin scoops AMT Player of the Month for December

DCL Player of the Month December

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been voted Leeds United’s AMT Player of the Month for December after a remarkable run of form that helped Daniel Farke’s side go unbeaten throughout the festive period.

The 28-year-old forward found the net in every game Leeds played in December, scoring six goals across five matches to spearhead an impressive sequence of results against top-flight opposition.

Leeds kicked off the month in style with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Elland Road, with Calvert-Lewin setting the tone by getting on the scoresheet. That was followed by a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Liverpool, before another hard-fought point came away at Brentford in a 1-1 draw.

Calvert-Lewin then produced his standout display of the month against Crystal Palace, scoring twice in a convincing 4-1 win, before December concluded with a 1-1 draw against Sunderland, where the striker once again made his mark.

In doing so, Calvert-Lewin became the first Leeds United player to score in six consecutive Premier League games, underlining his consistency and importance to the side during a demanding run of fixtures.

His impact was not just felt at Elland Road. With six goals in December, Calvert-Lewin scored more than any other player across Europe’s big-five leagues during the month. It marks the first time a Leeds United player has been the outright top scorer across those leagues in a single month since Mark Viduka’s eight-goal haul in April 2003.

Calvert-Lewin dominated the voting, collecting an emphatic 75% of the total to underline his outstanding impact during December. The striker finished well clear of his teammates, with captain Ethan Ampadu coming second on 7%, followed closely by Brenden Aaronson with 6%.

Reflecting on his win, Calvert-Lewin expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s always nice to be recognised for your input and it’s a great feeling to feel that from the fans too. The results we've achieved as a team have been the key, so long may it continue.”
