Leeds United will find out our Premier League fixture schedule this week, as eyes turn to the 2026/27 campaign!
We welcome Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City into the league this season! All three secured promotion from the Sky Bet Championship and will replace Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burnley and West Ham United who were relegated from the top-flight.
With plenty to plan for supporters, we’re giving you a breakdown of some key information ahead of the release date, answering some questions about the campaign ahead…
When will I know the Leeds United fixtures?

What date does the new season begin?
We can give you the weekend! The first fixtures will take place over the weekend of Saturday 22nd August. We await the broadcast selections before being able to give our exact start date.
Last year, the season began a week earlier, but this later date is because of the number of players that are currently participating in the World Cup, meaning they have longer to recover.
What date does the season end?
This one we can confirm! The Premier League have already confirmed that our final fixture will be on Sunday 30th May, 2027. Like in previous years, all matches will kick-off at the same time.
How many midweek matches will there be?
When the fixtures are released, there will be 33 matches scheduled on a weekend, and five in midweek.
This of course could change over the season depending on other factors, but on release day, the number is five.
Cup competitions… When are they?
The Whites are set to compete in the Emirates FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, alongside the Premier League.
Having reached the semi-final stage last season, our FA Cup journey will begin once more at the third round stage this time around, which is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 9th January, 2027. The final has been locked in for Saturday 22nd May 2027, a week before the league season ends.
The Carabao Cup starts for EFL teams over the weekend of Saturday 8th August. However, the latter rounds have not been confirmed just yet.
How many teams are in Europe?
Why is this question important? Well, with as many as nine teams in the Premier League playing in European competition this season, fixture displacement is inevitable. We will keep fans as up-to-date as possible.
Do we know anything on the Christmas schedule?
We know that Boxing Day this year is on a Saturday! In the 2025/26 season, only one match was played on the 26th, but with it being a weekend this year, there could be more.
That being said, we won’t know more until the broadcast selections are made.
It’s not fixture related, but just in case you wanted to know…
Transfer windows! The summer window opened on Monday 15th June 2026 and will officially close at 11pm on Tuesday 1st September 2026.
The winter window opens on Friday 1st January 2027, and closes on Monday 1st February 2027, at 11pm.
And finally… When will we find out the broadcast selections?
Like in previous years, the Premier League will release a schedule of dates for which they aim to release broadcast selections by, in order to give supporters as much notice as possible. Traditionally this is a minimum of five weeks before a fixture. We will keep supporters up to date as soon as we have this information!
