Leeds United Under-21s defeated Stockport County Under-21s in the Premier League Cup on Friday evening thanks to a confident first half showing.
Alfie Cresswell, who found the breakthrough after only eight minutes to set the Whites on their way to victory, spoke to LUTV after the final whistle.
"The boys were class tonight," the midfielder began. "I thought we were ruthless in front of goal, pressed really well, and happy to get the three points in the end.
"Scott said to start right in the game, so we all came out flying. Pressing well, we won it back. Got a corner and I scored from the corner.
"Everyone was buzzing, being 3-0 up at half time is a great thing, but we needed to come out for the second half firing as well. We were unlucky to concede their goal but then held them off.
"It will be a tough game," Cresswell finally added on the upcoming EFL Trophy test against Oldham Athletic. "It's an exciting one.
"The boys are ready. We're firing. Hopefully we can get the win again."
