After their 3-0 victory away to Chorley Women, Leeds United Women have now won three straight in the FA Women’s National League Division One North and level on points with Huddersfield Town Women at the top of the table.
On Sunday, the Whites return home to take on third-place Wythenshawe Women as they aim to keep their momentum rolling. Ahead of the match, right-back Alayna Millard spoke exclusively to leedsunited.com.
“It is always exciting to play against a team that is near the top of the table,” the defender said. “It will be a challenge, but I am looking forward to it. It should be a good game.
“Wythenshawe being close to us in the table gives us motivation to give a really good performance. We have been focusing and working hard all week to make sure we are as ready as possible.
“We have come off a really good team performance against Chorley which has set the tone and standards for the second half of the season. We can use that confidence to keep our momentum going into Sunday to make sure our standards do not drop.
“Playing at Garforth always gives us a boost because teams have got to come to us and get a result and we try and make it hard for them to do that. It adds that extra motivation when we see people behind us in the stands.
“A positive result is important because our goal every game is to win regardless of who we are playing.”
