Shauna Legge: One game at a time

Shauna Legge post Chorley

A first FA WNL clash of 2026 brought with it a first victory for Leeds United Women – an emphatic 4-0 demolition of Chorley away from home to take the Whites to the summit of the standings.

Speaking after the encounter, and with sights firmly set on maintaining top spot in Division One North, captain Shauna Legge had nothing but praise for her teammates.

“It is massive,” the defender told LUTV. “Obviously we have had to dig deep near the end but to finish the game, we were just saying to get our rewards, two goals there, that is just an excellent feeling.

“It is exactly what we wanted, to be fair. We spoke about it coming off the back of the break and just wanted to build on the performances that we had before Christmas. We have worked hard in training and it has paid off tonight.

“We were just saying at the end, everyone contributed. The subs, everyone, it is a squad we keep saying. It is not just a starting XI, everyone comes on and makes such an impact.

“That is what happened at the end and it was an all round good performance so credit to the girls, really proud of them.

“One game at a time, tick them off and move onto the next one. There is a long way to go and a lot of hard work yet.”
