Italian goalkeeper Marco Silvestri became United's second signing of summer 2014 when he arrived on a four-year deal from Serie A side Chievo for an undisclosed fee.
The then 23-year-old had caught the eye while on loan at Cagliari during the previous season and was soon identified as the man to take the number one shirt at Elland Road.
Upon moving to West Yorkshire, the shot-stopper said: "When I got the call from an English team I didn’t even have to think for one minute.
"I wanted to come here because I love this football. Now it is better than Italy.”
Silvestri had previously spent time on loan at Reggiana and Padova in Italy's lower divisions.
After featuring heavily in pre-season, he made his competitive United debut in the 2014/15 opening day 2-0 defeat at Millwall.
A string of eye-catching performances soon made Marco a fans' favourite at Elland Road and he was among the nominees for the Player of the Year award to cap his first season in English football.
