Preview: Leeds United Women vs West Bromwich Albion Women

A look ahead to Sunday's cup clash.

Leeds United Women are in FA Women’s National League Plate action on Sunday, as they host West Bromwich Albion Women at Tadcaster’s So-Trak Stadium.

The Baggies are in the division above Leeds, the FAWNL Northern Premier Division but currently find themselves at the wrong end of the table, sitting just one place outside of the relegation zone.

Despite their poor league form, West Brom have been firing in Cup competitions. Like Leeds, they are still in the FA Cup, County Cup and League Plate.

The Whites should have nothing to fear though against higher-league opposition, after knocking Northern Premier Division side Brighouse Town out of the FA Cup last month.

The So-Trak Stadium has been somewhat of a fortress for Rick Passmoor’s team too, losing just once on home turf this season, against Durham Cestria.

Both sides entered the League Plate after being defeated in the first round of the League Cup, the Baggies were thrashed 5-1 by Liverpool Feds, whilst Leeds were beaten by 2-0 York.

Leeds advanced from the first round with a 3-1 win over Solihull Moors and West Brom beat Leek Town 4-0 to progress.
