MATCH PREVIEW: LEEDS UNITED V BRISTOL CITY

We look ahead to Sunday's game.

The term bogey team, is definitely how Bristol City describe Leeds United.  Since 2010, the clubs have come up against each other eleven times, with the Whites victorious on nine occasions and losing just once.  The last time Bristol City won at Elland Road was back in 1979.  Earlier this season, United's fine run against the Robins continued, running out 3-0 winners at Ashton Gate.  Bristol will be looking to end that run though on Sunday, they sit five places above the Whites in the Sky Bet Championship and also reached the Carabao Cup semi-final stage, earlier in this campaign.

Goals from Chris Wood and Pablo Hernandez, along with a sterling performance from goalkeeper Rob Green ensured Leeds kept up their fine recent record against Bristol City at Elland Road.  Leeds took the lead in the 28th minute, some quick thinking by Hernandez at a free-kick, saw the Spaniard take the set-piece quickly, catching the City defence off guard and Wood went through on goal and slotted home.  Two minutes into the second half, Hernandez’s deflected strike from 20 yards found the net to double the lead, before Milan Djuric headed home a late consolation effort in stoppage time.

Team News

Leeds are without Gaetano Berardi, Liam Cooper and Samuel Saiz who all serve their final games of suspension.  Luke Ayling, Tyler Roberts, Conor Shaughnessy are also out with long term injuries.  Kemar Roofe has been declared fit after being brought off in last week's defeat at Sheffield United.  Nathan Baker serves the last of his three game ban for the Robins, so will be unavailable.  Milan Djuric and Gary O'Neil are still sidelined with injury.

The key battle

Pierre-Michel Lasogga v Aden Flint

Striker Lasogga has been United's form player of late.  He has found the net three times in the last four games and will be hoping to continue that run on Sunday.  The man tasked with keeping him quiet will be City's defender Flint, regarded as one of the best defenders in the Championship.  Not only strong at the back, Flint has also chipped in with eight goals in all competitions for the Robins this season.
